Storybook Costume Parade 2019

This year’s Storybook Costume Parade was a huge success!! It seems to be growing in the community too, because we had more parents than ever in attendance!! Our office dressed up as 101 Dalmatians, with the best Cruella Deville ever!! Everyone had fun and the younger kids walked away with a TON of candy!!

We made our Dalmatian shirts using the cricut.  Most of us made our ears by buying bunny ears and adding felt dots and a bow.  Of course, we had to have a tutu, because what costume is complete with out one!!  It was an easy costume to make!

Put a cap on drugs

It’s red ribbon week at school and today’s theme is Put a Cap on Drugs!! I love these little CC beanies with the fur pom pom on them! I have several in different colors.  I thought the gray went best with my cute ruffled sleeved shirt from Divas and Darlings in Rockwall.  The shirts come in light pink and gray also.  I love the maroon color best on me, though!

Outfit of the Day

It’s red ribbon week and we were supposed to wear a red shirt with jeans today.  Unfortunately, school was closed, but I didn’t let that stop me! Here I am with my red shirt!  I love it. It’s a red striped peplum wrap shirt from Loft.  Bonus, it’s on sale and 40% off with the code FRIENDS right now!!  I’ll find another excuse to wear it soon!! I also got this cute Kendra Scott necklace on sale, too!  I already had the earrings to match, which are not shown in the picture.

Air Fryer

My husband and I are on a new diet that is really working for both of us.  So far, after 11 weeks, we are down a total of 68 lbs.  I’m down 26 and he’s down 42!  We are hoping that the weight loss will lead to less medications.  We’ll find out about that on Thursday.  One of the things that we are doing is using an air fryer to cook our lean and green meals.  I love this air fryer because it’s SOOOO easy to cook great food with it.  I cooked this salmon in 10 minutes.  All I did was get Salmon, sprinkle some Ms. Dash on it, and turn it on for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.  Bam! The Lean part of my meal is complete!! I highly recommend this air fryer.  It’s really easy to use and cleans up easily too!

Costume Party

Halloween is my FAVORITE time of the year!! Our friends throw an annual Halloween Party and everyone is so creative.  Even the food is Halloweeny!

I love planning out cute costumes and putting them all together.  This year we went as a hunter and deer along with our besties.  This may have been the easiest costume ever to make!! I’m also getting a lot faster making tutus since I make them for almost every costume lately!!

For the deer, I started by buying antlers,  brown leggings and a brown shirt.  Let me tell you, I will probably wear these leggings all the time.  I love the way they fit and feel!! I used the cricut to make a big white oval, then pressed it on the shirt.  You could use felt, too, but since I have a cricut, I just used that!  All of that took about 2 minutes.  The tutu is just tulle and ribbon. It takes a little longer, but it completes the costume.

My husband’s outfit was even easier.  I just bought a green shirt and he already had the coat, crocs and camo looking pants.  But I did have to buy him a rifle.  The green shirt came in a package of two, so now I can make him something else with the cricut!  Overall, the costumes were a hit!

Dog park

Layla had her first trip to the dog park today!  She finally got all her shots, so now it’s time to start socializing her at the dog park.  After a rough start, she did pretty good.  She was really scared when all the dogs came up and started sniffing her, but soon she was running around without a care in the world.  She made a couple of new friends.  We will start bringing her up there on the golf cart starting next week!!

Layla also graduates from puppy school today!  It’s a big day for her! 🙂

Backyard Camping

My husband and I love to go camping, especially in this weather!! Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to go right now, so we did the next best thing last night.  We ordered an inexpensive fire pit and a half a cord of wood and set up our mini campsite in our own backyard!  It’s the next best thing!! Layla didn’t love it though and even this morning she wouldn’t go near the fire pit and barked at it, so I had to move it and hide it in the garage! (Click on the link to order your own!)

Cute Purse

Did you know you can get cute accessories on Amazon!?  I found this Daisy Rose Checkered Cross body bag and bought it for those casino nights where I don’t want to carry a big purse!

Puppy Training

Layla is probably the cutest puppy ever and she’s super smart.  I have spent so much time worrying about potty training her that I never really gave her a chance to tell me she needs to go.  I’m going to try out these potty bells that I bought on amazon.  Fingers crossed  that she uses them!!

TEXAS/ou game

Texas lost, but I made a really cute shirt for the game! It was fun getting to go to the Fair and watch all the TEXAS fans and all the cute UT clothes everyone was wearing!
